The French Jazz Summer School:

Based in the Ardeche, in the South of France, the French Summer School offers a Main Course for instrumentalists and singers of all experience levels, as well as a Specialist Singers Course and an Advanced Improvisors Course.

The Cuban Music School in Havana, Cuba

The course runs from 8-14&/or 15-21 Feb. 2009 and as well as the studying on the course, students will also make visits to the concerts and clubs of Havana to see top Cuban musicians and experience the exciting and unique world of Havana, Cuba.

About Us

Drummer, Clive Fenner is the Director of Jazz Summer School and started the International French Jazz School in 1995 and the Cuba Music School in 2002. He organises and plays at The Eastside Jazz Club).

The International French Jazz Summer School offers courses for all instruments and experience levels as well as a Specialist Singer’s Course and an Advanced Improvisors Course.

The courses look at all aspects of jazz including jazz harmony, jazz song form, jazz rhythm section playing, jazz singing and jazz improvisation, and have covered all jazz styles including jazz standards, European jazz, free jazz, jazz funk & rock, world jazz and African influenced jazz.

The Cuban Music School offers an introduction to Cuban music for all instruments, singers and all experience levels. Tutors come from England and Cuba and top Cuban musicians offer specialist workshops.

The international student group is introduced to key Cuban rhythms and traditional Cuban music styles including, Son, Rumba, Cha-Cha and Mambo. As well as the group and specialist workshops, students will make visits to the concerts and clubs of Havana to see top Cuban musicians and experience the exciting music of Havana, Cuba.
