Location & Travel
The International French Jazz Summer School is located in a stunning Chateau in the beautiful vineyards of the Languedoc Roussillon region of France.
The course is an excellent hands on introduction to Cuban music. The teaching team of Sierra McGuinness and Sierra Maestra is excellent. It was wonderful to be able to go out in the evenings and hear top class bands playing what we were aspiring to, and to enjoy the convivial company of course participants and organisers.
The Napoleon III chateau was built in the 1840's and sits amongst the vineyards of this south western region of France. It is near to the stunning medieval fortified town of Carcassonne and the Can du Midi, which passes through the region on its way to the Mediterranean Sea. The nearby village of Ginestas, with its winding streets, cafe's and shops, is an 8 minute walk from the Chateau.
